The court heard fr Moloney sexually assaulted the schoolboys in the late 1960’s at St. Mary’s College, Rathmines

He abused them in corridors, classrooms and at least on one occasion in class with other students were present.
One of the boys gave evidence of the effect this has had on his life - He said one week he was working for the U.N. in Rome, "earning a lot of money and wearing Armani suits", but felt horrible and the next thing he was on the streets "where he actually felt more comfortable."

Moloney has already served 15 months for abusing two other 12 year old schoolboys (in the 1970s.!)
– Judge Katherine Delahunt handed down an 18 month suspended sentence noting his age, his guilty plea and his battle with cancer.
