Adoption rights questioned

Eithne O'Brien reports that 42,000 adoptions took place in Ireland in the 50s, 60s and 70s, and that many of those children want to know more about their past

Barry Andrew, Minister for Children, says that he is bound by the Constitution, and that the rights of birth mothers have to be weighed against those of the adopted children
